Nachruf Prof. Dr. Gudrun Sartory

Die allseits sehr geschätzte, engagierte Hochschullehrerin, akademische Forscherin und Kollegin Gudrun Sartory ist am 25. Oktober 2015 im Alter von 70 Jahren verstorben. Die gebürtige Österreicherin war 1986 als Professorin für Klinische Psychologie und Psychotherapie an die Bergische Universität Wuppertal berufen worden; 2010 wurde sie pensioniert.

Professor Gudrun Sartory, our dear colleague and greatly esteemed researcher has passed away on the 25th of October, aged 70. In 1986 she was appointed Professor for Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal and she retired in 2010.

Von 1986 – 2010 leitete Frau Prof. Dr. Gudrun Sartory den Lehrstuhl der Klinischen Psychologie mit der angeschlossenen Universitätsambulanz für Psychotherapie an der Bergischen Universität Wuppertal. Auch nach ihrer Emeritierung hat Gudrun Sartory weiterhin erfolgreich an Forschungsprojekten gearbeitet, zahlreiche Abschlussarbeiten des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses betreut und weitere akademische Aufgaben wahrgenommen.

Schwerpunkte ihrer Arbeit bildeten die Lehre und bis zuletzt die Forschung rund um die Themengebiete Angststörung, Traumafolgestörungen und Schizophrenie. Frau Prof. Sartory war es immer wichtig, die Grundlagen der Erkrankungen, psychophysiologische und neurophysiologische Mechanismen, besser zu verstehen und Erkenntnisse über mögliche Ursachen auf Basis experimenteller Methoden der Psychologie zu gewinnen.

Daneben baute Gudrun Sartory die Universitätsambulanz für Psychotherapie als eine der ersten an einer deutschen Hochschule auf. Seitdem wird dort umfassende Diagnostik und verhaltenstherapeutische Unterstützung bei psychischen Erkrankungen angeboten. Es war ihr stets ein Anliegen, dass Patienten die Möglichkeit bekommen, über ihr Krankheitsbild informiert zu werden und dass ihnen durch wissenschaftlich fundierte Therapie geholfen werden kann.

Auch ihre schier unermessliche Erfahrung, ihre Geradlinigkeit und ihr Humor werden uns sehr fehlen.
